Frameless SMT laser stencil
Frameless SMT stencils are used for prototype and small batch production. They are not glued to the frame and are cheaper.

Framed SMT laser stencil
Framed SMT stencils are used for volume batch production. The laser cut stencil is glued to the metal frame.
